THE GRAZERS
The dairy support operation has been in existence on Taruna Farm since the late 1970's
Farm prices for our traditional global markets dropped and thereby necessitated a change in farming policy.
We have currently 350 dairy heifers on the property. It works like this: The dairy grazers come onto the property as calves in early May and remain for one year returning back to their owners as in-calf heifers and form replacements for the dairy herd. The stock do particularly well on the hills and return to their owners well-grown and well-muscled.
Current management is very proud of the many well-grown heifers that have been returned to their owners for over four decades.
